Could you imagine yourself pulling an entire wedding together in two weeks? I managed to do it! I somehow ended up in the position of wedding coordinator two weeks before the wedding, since the only planning that had been completed were purely through conversation up until that point. Oh wait did I tell you the best part? We only had a $0.00 budget to work with? Let me summarize how we pulled this trick out of our hat!

There were advantages that had made it possible in our case to complete everything on time. The chapel was reserved by a family member, the reception was set to take place in a 3000 sq ft outdoor tent (wedding present), and the bride was borrowing her sister’s dress. The groom had booked the tuxes. Four of the biggest factors accomplished!

Time to look into the details:

The bride’s jewelry and tiara were on loan from various family members. Chapel and reception decorations were created and assembled by yours truly. The brides aunt (whose hobby is a photography), as well as the guests, filled the role of photographer, the brides brother-in-law filled the role of videographer for the ceremony and reception.

The soon to be wedded knew a culinary student who had agreed to make the bridal cake (cost is low, quality can be great since some use it for class credit). The groom’s cake was made by a family friend (keeping it cheap). The reception dinner was cooked and served by the grooms parents and friends. A karaoke machine played the duel role of disc jockey as well as amplifier for those who were issuing heart felt words to the newly weds.

In the end, the wedding guests were none the wiser, and this is how we managed to pull together an entire wedding in two weeks time.

So have you asked yourself if you should include children in your wedding plans? Weddings have evolved over time into full family events that can last for hours. It has become a more common practice for the guest lists to include children.

If you are planning to include children here are a few things to consider:

The best way for a child to behave is through play! A good way to accomplish this would be to set up an activity table or corner for them throughout the reception. They could be supplied with coloring books and colors, t-shirts or hats with markers (to create their own designs), or cookies they could ice and eat.

I’m Hungry! You won’t have to rethink the elegant dinner menu you have planned. You can easily make a few additions that would better suit your younger crowd.

May I have this dance? Many weddings include dancing how are you to include the little ones for this? There could be an area of the reception hall that is reserved as a children’s dance floor. There could even be a small sound system such as a cd player set up just for them (depending on your location).
Your wedding can easily include guests of all ages and still allow everyone to have a great time! You may even find the celebration lasting longer since your guests won’t have to head home to be with their children.

A special someone you care about is getting married and you have found yourself in the position to deliver a speech for the special occasion.

Where do you begin?

The simplest way to begin your speech is to make a list of the points you would like to talk about.

Take each point and turn it into a sentence or two.

Read through your sentences and determine the order you would like to present them in.

Using a thesaurus you can glamorize the words in your sentences without changing the original meaning.

All that’s left now is to read your speech to a few different people who will give you constructive feed back.

Food for thought!

Your speech only begins with the words, the rest of the power comes from the emotion and emphasis in the delivery.

There are so many things to think about when it comes to planning your wedding. Sometimes it can feel like the closer you get to that wonderous day the number of things you need to consider and keep track of just seems to multiply. You will have so much to do to get ready for your big day and without a wedding checklist you’re asking for trouble.

No matter how good your memory is you’d be very unwise to rely on it for every little detail you would have to remember concerning your wedding.

It’s such an important day for you it would be a crying shame if it were spoiled simply because you failed to plan properly in the first place. A properly constructed checklist is the very best way you can ensure that all of your wedding plans become a reality.

Creating a wedding checklist tailored to your specific needs and desires will certainly help to relieve the inevitable stress, particularly as the special day gets closer.

There is no need to make some elaborate, extremely detailed checklist, even a simple list on a piece of paper can do the trick.
